I did the teeth kit and did 9 months of treatment, to which I found I needed refinements so I went and did the teeth scan which was much better than the kit. It was a lot more precise and the aligners fit my teeth better. All my issues were corrected and I was extremely happy with the outcome. I had straight teeth and was doing great until it was around my last month’s set and my aligners started to not fit my teeth anymore. It took sdc two months to get new aligners to me which by that point my teeth shifted back and those aligners didn’t fit anymore. I had to redo the scan again and get a new full treatment plan which is 6 months. I have been doing this for over two years now and hoping for a better outcome with their customer service and getting the aligners shipped out much quicker.

I wasnt expecting much and I had some disposable income from my tax return so I decided to give SDC a try. It was so worth it. My bottom teeth are 10x better and my confidence level is so much higher now.
To note:
1. This is not the perfection of traditional braces. This is a cheaper, faster, alternative.
2. The pain is tough with each new aligner. Use some OTC pain pills and start new aligners at night.I hope your results are as awesome as mine!
Helpful?Kayce A.Orlando, FL3 years agoOverbiteSmile Direct has been LIFECHANGING for me. Hands down, the best decision I have made for confidence in my life. I completed my treatment over the course of one year, initially a 5-month plan with two 3 month refinements afterward.
I wouldn’t recommend their retainers…my dentist put in a permanent retainer for $335 top and bottom. I would ask your ortho or dentist about this after you finish or else you will be paying $99 every six months for life.
Everyone has different opinions and results, but I would just say that if you are on the fence, go for it. It is a great program if you actually follow it and stay tough and true to the plan!!
Helpful?Kevin E.Maine3 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapSmile Direct Club is a great company with friendly staff. Sometimes they can be hard to get a hold of but usually not too bad if you go through IG or FB. I completed my journey not long ago. It was tough to stay on track. Sometimes I would forget to wear my aligners but I realized that as long as you get back on track quickly you are okay. The plastic is not bad in your mouth but I also brushed my teeth a lot during the 6 months that I had to wear my aligners. They recommend 22 hours a day but I probably did 20 on average. Sometimes it was nice to have them out for a while. Also, their whitening kit works well but it doesn’t last as long as they claim but it does work well. Overall, for the price I was very happy and no real complaints.

I had an overjet and crowding and have dealt with minimal pain. Customer service has been golden, I can’t brag in them enough! I highly recommend smile direct club.
Helpful?Jayne-Marie V.Langhorne, PA3 years agoCrowdingOverbiteUnderbiteAfter having braces for about 10 years off and on and then not wearing my retainer I finally was ready to make a change. I chose smile direct club because it was all online without any annoying office visits. I did the impression kit, everything was approved. I received my aligners within 4-6 weeks. And started the process immediately. Each week I had to cut off one molar because during the shipping process I had a root canal and crown put on. The aligner didn’t fit it. But I was approved to cut it down off that last molar since it didn’t affect it at all. I recommend smile direct club to anyone who asks.
Helpful?Megan M.Massachusetts3 years agoCrowdingI had braces as a teenager and did not wear my retainer as an adult. I’ve found myself increasingly smiling less and less with teeth in photos. My crowded teeth were impacting my confidence and I decided it was time to fix that. I was a little skeptical when I went in for my smile scan, but my friend had success with SDC so I decided to continue with the process.
My aligners arrived on time and each set fit well. I did have to file some of them, but I didn’t mind that. I was satisfied with SDC customer service, any question I had during the process, I FB messaged SDC and they answered right away. My retainers arrived a few weeks early so I had them right when my plan was done. Overall I am happy with my results and found the process to pretty much match what I had expected and I would recommend to others.
Helpful?Monica R.Jacksonville, FL3 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI chose this company because it’s popular and cheaper than getting braces (which would have cost me $4000). I had them before but lost my bottom retainer. Customer service has been okay’ish but reflects the price. I didn’t care for phone service but chatting through Facebook chat service has been best. I felt like my initial imprint sucked, but I went to get scanned and my aligners feel much better, but ultimately extended my 4-month plan to a 6-month plan. So I would say be patient and don’t call if you need help.
Helpful?Shelby M.Seattle, WA3 years agoCrowdingPreviously I had braces for bite issues and major crowding as a teen. Like many others, I stopped wearing my retainer and the teeth moved slightly back to where they were before. Because of this, I was self-conscious about my smile. I decided to do Smile Direct Club because of their telehealth convenience and also lower cost. I only had front teeth I was concerned about and my smile plan was 6 months.
As far as my experience, I followed instructions thoroughly and also made sure I had healthy teeth prior to starting treatment. My plan was 6 months and I was happy with the results after this time frame. I would recommend Smile Direct Club to adults whom may previously have had orthodontic work but still have mild flaws to work out.
Helpful?Victoria F.Chicago1 year agoTooth GapOverbiteI really liked my journey so far. It is uncomfortable changing the aligners and sometimes a lot to handle. However the results have been worth the temporary discomfort. I am excited to finish the journey. On my second set currently.
Helpful?Ester K.Raleigh, NC1 year agoCrowdingI was always self conscious of my smile so I decided to invest in smiledirect. I thought it was affordable with a short treatment time. So far I can definitely see changes. I am excited to see the end results. I did feel like there wasn’t much communication during the process.
Helpful?Jeremy B.Des Moins, Iowa2 years agoCrowdingBack in the day as a younger kid I had braces. After a mouth injury, my teeth shifted a little bit. I didn’t have the cash to afford the expensive ortho method so I went with SDC route. Overall I am happy.
Pros:
This works.
Cheap.
Easy.
Fast.Cons:
Painful
Slow shipping
Can’t drink coffee all day.It is a great program. Just have faith and be patient. Nothing happens overnight. Even some of my aligners made my teeth a little worse at times and I thought I was regressing. Ultimately my teeth made great progress and I am very satisfied.

Michael W.Littleton, Colorado2 years agoSpacingBottom Line: SDC works. Is it perfect? No. But, look at my results. For the price that I paid in comparison to what my Dentist quoted me, I can say that my teeth are straigher and whiter (free whitening kit). I wasn’t expecting movie star perfection and I think that if you are patient, have tempered-expectations, and are ready for the process mentally, you will be all good. My dentist was impressed after I finished my treatment. Hope this helps someone!
Helpful?Rachel M.Connecticut1 year agoCrowdingOverbiteSmile Club Direct offered competitive pricing and for myself, as a single mom with lack luster health insurance, budget was important. The in person scan was easy and simple and the staff were very informative and answered any questions I had. The customer service has been great and all of retainers arrived clearly labeled and ready to go. They are so easy to put in and remove and I was able to see the difference in just a few months. I’m really happy that I decided to do something for me and smile club direct was the best choice.
Helpful?Kyara L.Mobile, AL2 years agoTooth GapI chose this company, Smile direct because they were cheap and affordable for a college student. This company went above and beyond with correcting my brand new smile. Although some aligners were painful I pushed through the pain to get the great smile I was looking for without the long wait traditional braces have. Because of the pandemic I had to do an impression kit at home but surprisingly it was fairly easily to follow. If you are considering this company I highly recommend it for someone who can’t quite afford braces but would like to correct their smile.
Helpful?Carolyn M.Williamsburg, VA1 year agoCrowdingI had braces as a kid but stopped wearing my retainers in my 20s. I knew how my teeth were supposed to look and recognized that crowding that was taking place. Because it was a “simple” fix, I felt comfortable using SDC and my local dentist was supportive of my choice. Due to the hands-off nature of this type of orthodontic process, I don’t know if I’d recommend it for more complicated treatments, but it was the perfect choice for me. It has been 5+ years since I did it and I am still thrilled with the results!
Helpful?Evan J.Arkansas3 years agoSpacingI LOVE my new smile! I have finished many months ago and my smile is still great! I am an aspiring actor and this has definitely helped me jumpstart my career! If you are self-conscious of your smile please change your life and get clear aligners! I am so much more confident. I have felt this is one of my best investments in myself for sure. Don’t listen to negativity.
My only complaint – the retainers cost $99 every six months which is a lot in my opinion.
Helpful?Zuri C.United States3 years agoTooth GapMidlineI chose this company because it was really affordable and had great reviews. The whole process was Super easy and convenient. Any time there was a problem, the FB messenger customer service was superb and reached back out to me in a very fast manner.
So far SDC has met my expectations and I thankfully have not had any problems come so far. The impression kit was a little tricky and I do recommend the teeth scan a lot more cause it gets really in-depth of what the teeth look like without any misinterpretation. I would say if you’re looking for a simple fix that isn’t too drastic, to go for it! It’s worth the price of not getting braces.
Helpful?Shania C.Ohio3 years agoSpacingTooth GapOverbiteI chose SmileDirectClub because of their reasonable pricing compared to traditional braces & from all of the good reviews I have read from others who have had success using SmileDirectClub. I’m halfway through my smile journey and they are already meeting my expectations for closing my gaps that I’ve been insecure about growing up. SmileDirectClubs messenger support is always open and the best way I personally like to get ahold of them with questions. I chose to have the scan done instead of doing impressions, I highly recommend going to the smile shop and having scans because they are so quick, easy and accurate. Just do plenty of research to make sure clear aligners are right for you before jumping in & good luck!
Helpful?Alicia P.Birmingham3 years agoCrowdingI choose to go with SmileDirectClub to straighten my teeth before my wedding. So far I am on Aligner 9, I have 3 more to go until I am finished treatment. The process has been perfect, no issues at all, the pain was minimal and every Aligner fit perfectly.
My teeth are so much straighter. I am very happy with the outcome! The only thing I have to complain about is it would be nice if the employees communicated better with each other, every time you have a question you have to speak to a different person each time and keep re-explaining your situation, they should either assign one employee to each case or have better communication between each other. Other than that I am happy with the outcome so far and have no complaints about the treatment, the process was very fast, 4 months! Hardly any people noticed I was actually wearing aligners!
Helpful?Adonis S.Tucson, Arizona1 year agoCrowdingSmile Direct Club was amazing during the process. They offered wonderful support when I needed it, and they were thorough and consistent. The aligner quality was great, I never had one snap or break. Overall 10/10, would definitely recommend.
Helpful?Jacob R.NYC, NY1 year agoCrowdingSpacingUnderbiteThe initial part of the process with SmileDirectClub was not bad.. the impression kit was fairly easy and the shipping logistics were simple. The biggest problem in my opinion is the timeline given. I believe that it is at least twice as long as they estimate for most people. They just know that once you’re halfway through you’ll keep them on as long as needed, so I would just say don’t go off their timeline. Also, don’t expect any major changes.
Helpful?John M.New York1 year agoCrowdingMy primary concerns were my upper left tooth being slightly curved outward and lower molar sitting lower than my other teeth. I have lost track of the number of revisions I have had but, needless to say, I am awaiting for another to arrive. It’s been a minimum of 10 revisions, at this point. Smile Direct becomes less and less responsive with each revisions, requiring a significant amount of time to make the devices and get them out to me. I honestly cannot say how much longer this will take but I anticipate many years at the rate we are going. I am very disappointed with the entire process. There has been progress BUT the original “six month” time estimate was not even close to reality.
Helpful?Izabela B.Grand Rapids, MI1 year agoSpacingCrossbiteMidlineIt has always bothered me how my jaw looked misaligned in pictures. I also have a very stubborn front tooth that tends to rotate. So far I have seen improvement with my teeth and I’m hopeful to have the problems fixed.

Emily G.Memphis, TN3 years agoSpacingSo, the reason that I didnt give 5 stars is because they were really slow with processing my order and shipping my aligners. It took almost two months from my date for them to even ship my aligners. Because of this, my treatment went from 5 months to 7. Aside from that, I watched probably every YouTube video available, good and bad, beforehand. I met with my dentist who was willing to keep an eye on my teeth every 60 days. I finished last month and while there are some things I would still like to change just a little but overall this has been a really good experience for the results.
Helpful?Michael U.Golden Colorado3 years agoCrowdingSpacingOMG super happy with my smile from SDC…honestly don’t listen to the negativity!! The plan was great for me. I was on it for 6 months. It wasn’t too bad, sometimes I felt my teeth even got worst throughout the process but just trust your smile center and you will come out good! I would tell all of you considering it to just do it. Save up that cash and do it!! My last word of advice is to go see your dentist and get a permanent retainer after. It only costs another $200 for me but you will spend that in retainers in one year. That is a pro tip!!
Helpful?Sophia L.Calgary, Canada3 years agoCrowdingMidlineI chose this company because it was cheaper than other clear aligner companies (Invisalign), but still had a lot of reviews/customers. While some of the reviewers’ results were bad, my results were okay (the aligners did make my teeth straighter), however, I did experience significant gum reduction. Customer service response time via phone and email were fairly reasonable (within 1-2 weeks for email). I went in for an in-person scan, they provided lip balm, and teeth whitener (did not really work), and I had to provide payment information. Overall, not a bad experience, however, there are consequences with gum reduction and teeth pain. Would proceed with caution based on initial teeth conditions.

Helpful?Taylor M.Westbrook, CT3 years agoCrowdingOverbiteAlong my Smile Direct Club journey, I’ve found it to be easy, affordable, and convenient! I’m not even done with my journey yet, and my teeth have come so far. The customer service has been wonderful and answer any questions that I may have. My only regret is not doing it sooner!
Helpful?Heitor D.Marietta, Georgia2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapI decided to use aligners because it was more affordable. I’ve always had a gap that I’ve been insecure about and I wanted to get rid of it. I went into the smile direct club office to get a 3D scan and everyone was super helpful. They were very friendly and even helped me figure out that my insurance helped with the cost. I was overall very satisfied.
