SmileDirectClub claims to be able to correct most cases of teeth spacing, but do customer testimonials support this?
Overall, yes! In most cases, spacing issues were corrected in the standard timeframe without the need for multiple refinements, and customers stated over and over again how much they loved their new smile. Just keep in mind that if you are looking to correct spacing and other alignment issues, your experience might be a bit different — treatment may take longer and/or require refinements.
But don’t just take our word for it. Check out the authentic reviews below to learn more about treating teeth spacing with SmileDirectClub.

I had a lot of issues with pain and I ended up taking a LOT of tylenol and asprin for headaches and stuff but at the end I was happy. The whitening kit I saved for the end for a “final result” and wow it works great and didnt make my teeth sensitive. the only bad part was really the pain from the new aligners when I had to switch them up. But really works great, 2 thumbs up!
Helpful?Ashleigh P.Hagerstown, MD2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOpen BiteI’ve had bad teeth for over ten years. I decided to get aligners because I was never happy with my smile and smile direct seemed the best option. I was so supported by smile direct through every step of the process. I was positively surprised by the treatment process and how easy it was! I say go for it smile direct is great!
Helpful?John M.Bayamon, Puerto Rico3 years agoCrowdingSpacingI have been using my aligners for 22 hours a day for 4 months out of my 5-month plan. So far, my only complaint is the quality of the edges of these aligners. They are very sharp and do cut your mouth. I use my wife’s nail file to help out with this. One other thing to note is that they are definitely hard to get a hold of if you have any questions.
Actually, my dentist has been my go-to for all of my concerns because I have been seen by the same dentist for a few years now and he is really welcoming and interested in making sure that my teeth are moving correctly. If you have a good relationship with your dentist, I would suggest talking with them not just before, but also during your questions as it seems like SDC will usually take a few days to respond. Overall, I am pretty pleased. My teeth are not movie star straight, but they are vastly improved.
Helpful?Brooklyn B.Pittsburgh, PA3 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverall, I do not recommend SmileDirectClub. Customer support was very helpful always but I wasn’t happy with my treatment and how my teeth turned out. Also after my treatment, I had pain in my teeth and after seeing an orthodontist they told me my bite was messed up.
Helpful?Laura W.USA3 years agoCrowdingSpacingOkay, so my honest review is that SDC really works. I know that some of you might look at my after picture and think that my smile is still not very good. But, in comparison with my beginning smile, I cant tell you how much my confidence has grown. I am SO, SO happy with everything that SDC did for me. I couldn’t afford the other options and because of that my expectations were tailored to begin with. However, look close at my teeth and you will see a world of a difference. If you need help, go to your smile shop and see what they can do for you. Trust me, it is worth it.
Helpful?Justin M.Farmingville3 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteI saw an opportunity online for a sale and took advantage of it. And though it was occasionally and uncomfortable journey it was worth it to get my teeth straightened in just 4 months.
Helpful?Corey Q.Kentucky3 years agoSpacingTooth GapI chose SmileDirectClub because of the lifelong front gap I had. I have wanted to get rid of it all of my life. It was so easy with them, from the moment I walked into one of their stores and when I received the aligners. I have recommended SmileDirectClub to everyone that has asked.
Helpful?Kalie M.Oviedo, FL3 years agoSpacingOverbiteI chose this company after finding them on Instagram from an add. They far exceeded my expectations. I have a gap in my front teeth and wanted it to close before starting my career. Customer service is great, always. I had a teeth scan done at a location. Only two months in and the gap is almost gone completely!
Helpful?Kendra B.Kilgore, TX3 years agoSpacingTooth GapOverbiteI went to a traditional dentist and was told adult braces would cost about 6000 dollars. After having 2 little ones that just wasn’t in our budget. I was mainly just looking for my front teeth to be straightened and that’s it, to make my smile better. That’s when I found out about the SmileDirectClub. I decided to give at-home impression kit a try. I had to submit 2 to get it right. After that, it was smooth sailing. I had a 6-month plan for about 2000 dollars and have been done for about 1 year now. I wear my retainers at night and have been very happy with my results. I would recommend it.
Helpful?Jamie H.MS3 years agoSpacingI’m very pleased with my results from SDC. I had a minor imperfection that I was concerned with. SDC worked really well for my issue. All of the aligners fit really well and customer service was great. I definitely recommend this company for the price.
Helpful?La P.Baldwin1 year agoSpacingMy teeth problem is very simple. I just need to close the gaps between my front teeth. My plan was for 4 months. I am very pleased with my results. I think if your teeth problem is not severe, you should definitely give it a try. It is 2/3 cheaper than invisilign. Also, it is all done at home. For the entire treatment, I feel tightness at the beginning of every new aligners, but it didn’t give me too much problems. The discomfort disappears within in a day or so. Highly recommend it if you have a simple tooth problem.
Helpful?Natalia N.Norfolk1 year agoSpacingTooth GapI wanted to fix a small spacing issue on my upper teeth. Given the fact that this was a minor cosmetic issue that would not have any funcional implications, I opted to try this one out as opposed to paying (3000-7000) dollars for invisalign, which according to many reviews should be the safest option for a more complex case.
To start out, I ordered the at home impression kit, which came incomplete so I couldn’t send in my impressions, then had to find a studio where they would do the scan (that was a one hour drive from my home) it went well, everyone was super friendly and helpful and I made it very clear that I wanted to get clear aligners, ONLY on my upper teeth. She said there was no problem and I should wait for the aligners to arrive on the mail to start my treatment. Once I got them I realized they designed a plan to work on both my upper and lower teeth so I called them and asked, can I just wear the upper ones? They said absolutely not as the plan was meant to work on my upper and lower teeth simultaneously and only using the upper one would result in modification of my bite. So I said, this is not what I asked for, can you please fix it? once again they asked me to do a new scan. Went in, got it… and this is when most of the drama started, I would call to ask why they hadn’t shipped my aligners and there response was, we will connect you with the clinical team, they would put me on hold for a long time, put me with a different person every time and I would have to tell them the whole story, they would say, well, we just need your ok to send you your upper and lower aligners, to which I replied: No, I requested only upper ones… then they said oh I am sorry, you are correct, we will fix this and contact you as soon as we get your plan redesign. They never called, it was me who called two weeks in a row, reliving the same call where it wasn’t clear what had happened and I had to explain over and over again what I was requesting. One day, I was just fed up with the poor communication/customer service, and I just called to get my money back. Once I said that some manager magically said oh yes, we have your upper teeth plan ready and set to go, we just need you to give us the ok. From then on, I received my plan, my treatment, and everything went pretty smooth. The starting kit was very complete, the retainers were not painful to wear (as I remember braces hurt so bad…) and after four months, I was all set with my new smile. I want to say the quality of the product was great but the disconnection between their clinical team and their customer services was just awful.
