Byte says their aligners can correct mild-to-moderate teeth spacing — but does customer testimony support this?
Overall, yes! Customers brag about their personalized customer support, the comfort Byte offers, and the speed of treatment. They love how comfortable the aligners are and the confidence boost they get after treatment. Quite a few also noted that the nighttime-only system made their treatment significantly more convenient.
But don’t just take our word for it. Check out these authentic reviews from customers who used Byte for spacing issues.

It worked for the most part. My bottom teeth were really crowded and the top had some spaces and twisted teeth. Byte totally fixed my top teeth and I love the results. My bottom teeth though got a little funky. Since the teeth were so crowded, by the end of my 3 month program, I told them that my teeth were still slightly crooked and that one of my teeth in the front appeared shorter than the rest. With the Smile Guarantee they sent me a whole new 3 month set of aligners to try again, even for the top teeth! I’m so thankful for that. My top teeth look even better, and the bottoms are still a little crooked and I still have a tooth on the bottom that is shorter than the others….but they did what they could with the technology, and I’m honestly surprised they worked this well and so fast.
Overall, I got exactly what I wanted! After I go to my dentist to shave my teeth (to make them all the same size) my smile journey will be totally complete! Sorry for the ugly pics, since I have an overbite I have to smile weird to show my teeth! Also, the first pic is actually about a month into my aligners.
Helpful?Jade H.Atlanta, GA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteThe aligners worked good and very accurate considering that you take the impressions at home yourself. At first, the aligners will create a little tingling pressure on your teeth that will take some initial pushing through of the pain for the first couple days. You will get used to it and like the feeling because if means they are working 😅 I feel so much more confident now and I’m glad to have had the option to try Byte aligners. I feel like they have really straightened out my teeth.
Helpful?Brianna J.Buffalo3 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteI chose Byte because I read that they had really good customer service which was really important to me. I wanted to have someone there every step of the way and I definitely got that. The impressions kit was pretty simple (but uncomfortable) to do.
My biggest concern was my gap between my two front teeth and that has definitely been fixed. However, the crowding in my bottom teeth was not fixed and I need to get more aligners than I was originally supposed to have to correct it. What is nice about that though, is that I don’t have to pay any additional money for my refinement aligners. As for the aligners themselves, I definitely had some fit issues in my molars but the hyper Byte definitely helped with that and I got instructions to follow from customer service.
Overall, I’d give Byte 4/5 because it fixed my main concern, but I’ll still need more aligners to fix my secondary issue.
UPDATE November 2020: This company did a great job with my gap, however, I still have crowding in my bottom teeth even after my treatment. I’m currently waiting for refinement aligners and it’s taking about 2 months and my current aligners are starting to fall apart. Crossing my fingers that they get here soon! 🤞
Helpful?Ashley G.Semmes, AL4 years agoSpacingOverbiteI chose Byte because it was affordable and the treatment time was fast. They have exceeded my expectations! I wanted to fix my gap and my overbite. The first couple of days they did hurt but after that, you don’t even feel them. Now, I love to smile and I do it with confidence. I’ve gotten so many compliments. Customer support alone has been by my side since day one checking in on me and I like that. Thank you Byte!
Helpful?Melanie V.Madison, WI2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteCrossbiteThe first set (upper and lower) fit perfectly, so I guess I followed the directions correctly for the 2 sets of teeth impressions. Putting them in was a breeze and they fit snug on my teeth. I do have a slight lisp when I talk with them in and they are noticeable when I bite down, but thinking that might get better as I adjust to them.
My personal interactions and conversations with the company have been very good. I do realize they are geared towards selling a product, but my representative was very knowledgeable and straight forward when I asked about success rates, complaints, and complications. At no point have I been informed that this works for everyone or assured that it would even work 100% as planned for me.
Each new aligner set is snug when first put in, but by the end of the week has adjusted my teeth enough that they are easy to put in and take out.
Super impressed with how my teeth are aligning and no complications at all. I know this option may not be for everyone, but I am now at the point that I have seen great results and would urge you to try if you are at all curious.
The clear aligners are the best invention I have ever used and I’m one that had actual metal braces on my teeth in the past. The only issue I have run into is my insurance company has continually asked for additional information (3 separate times), so I am still waiting for the reimbursement to be approved and received. Even if for some odd reason the insurance didn’t come through, I would have chosen to do it all over again and because of the pricing I really can’t complain.
Helpful?Chris G.Phoenix, AZ2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteI decided to purchase Byte aligners because my teeth were not aligned properly for much of my life and I could not afford braces when I was younger. I chose Byte as it seemed like an affordable option that would help my issue within a reasonable about of time. My treatment was only supposed to take roughly four months and although I was skeptical I understood adjustments would need to be made according to what I needed. I did not expect to still be wearing aligners over a year and a half later. The issue with Byte is that every time you talk to someone in customer service, whether via email or phone, it is someone new who does not have any prior knowledge of your treatment. I repeatedly had to ask every person to read prior notes/history so I would not have to continue to repeat myself every time I got on the phone. Overall, I have had to have 35 sets of aligners after an initially prescribed 17, this seems like a severe miscalculation. As I said, I understand that adjustments need to be made throughout the process, but the lack of customized support really made this an unbearable process. I would not recommend this company to anybody planning to go through similar treatment, the only reason I gave three stars was because I am happy with the end result.
Helpful?Chris J.Atlanta, GA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapI’ve wanted to close my gap for as long as I can remember; I may not have ever pulled the trigger if it weren’t for Byte and their unique system which includes the HyperByte and BrightByte. Their customer service is on point, and the whole treatment is very reasonably priced compared to the other brands on the market.
In less than 3 months of treatment, my gap almost fully closed. And over the next several weeks, my few wayward teeth will continue to straighten per the plan from the #Byte doctors and experts.
I’m going into the 10th month of the program and coming down the home stretch to completing my Byte journey. I did the nighttime aligners which require me to wear the aligners 10+ hours per day (even tho over time I wore them most of the day also); the daytime aligners require you to wear them 22+ hours a day. The company does a great job with sales and customer service. Their medical director @drjonmarashi is awesome!! The two things that made me go with Byte over the others (outside of their customer service) was pricing and the HyperByte-the device that sonically helps to cut your program time while helping to alleviate the pain/discomfort that comes with shifting your teeth. Hopefully, this helps those thinking about getting aligners.
If you’re considering a clear aligner system, give Byte a closer look.
Helpful?Ben S.Bensalem, Pennsylvania2 years agoSpacingI got clear alligners since metal braces sounded painful. I just had a friend who finished her treatment with byte and gave it really good reviews. I put in for a kit and when it said it would only take 12 weeks to close my gap I was sold. My front teeth gap was the sole reason I ever smiled. I literally don’t lie when I smile 3x more now that my gap is closed
Helpful?Johanna W.New York, NY2 years agoSpacingI absolutely love byte. I’ve been unhappy with my crooked teeth that had been getting more and more crooked as the years went by (even though I had worn braces as a teenage.) I decided to buy byte’s treatment and couldn’t have been happier with the results. The customer support have been great throughout treatment. I originally was supposed to be done in as little as 3 months, but because of my stubborn bottom teeth, I had to get a different set of aligners after the first 3 months. Byte sent me these with little hassle. And now I am extremely happy with my teeth. Cheaper and faster than braces! Amazing.
Helpful?Kamille F.Las Vegas, NV2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteMy upper teeth were starting to crowd and were presenting misalignment while my lower teeth were spacing out further and further away from each other and it was starting to get worse over 2 years because my wisdom teeth were pushing out in the back. The reason I chose Byte was because I made sure to do research on the different brands and Byte seemed to have the best prices, best customer reviews, and best customer service. It was my first time hearing about this type of aligner and my brother mentioned Invisalign.
After searching for Invisalign, I started getting ads for other brands and everything I was looking for was provided by Byte. The process to begin was very easy and Byte presented very good manuals inside the boxes they kept sending, and included in the aligner kit was the Hyperbyte and some teeth whitening products. The service was exceptional and I definitely recommended them. My upper teeth have been corrected and my lower teeth are currently on the process of being corrected.
The only reason I am giving a 4-star rating is because when I started off and paid for the first time, the service was amazing and quick! It was very efficient. But after a year, they seem to be responding after a week IF I SEND THE MESSAGE 3 MORE TIMES. Overall, it was a positive experience and it helped my teeth.
Helpful?Ashley LaneHouston, TX2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteHmmmm. Where do I start. The best way to explain Bytes process is DIY. Do it yourself teeth straightening. You are basically in control of your own orthodontic care. Bad stuff first. False timeline. I expected to get done with treatment in 15 weeks as prescribed by BYTE. I expected to wear each aligner for 7 days and switch to the next aligner right after. I expected to have phone calls answered and emails responded to within 24 hours. I expected for the treatment to work on the first set of aligners. None of the aforementioned happened. I am now on a 2nd set of aligners. It has been 9 months. I have to wear the aligners for 2 weeks each. The customer service is very SLOW. I chose Byte at night because I dont want to wear them all the day. I wear them for 10hrs at night and take them out. Have I seen progress with my teeth? Yes. Do they look better? Yes. But goodness! Its such a slowwwwww process. I am glad that I dont have to visit the dentist constantly. I am not happy that BYTE withheld important info like time frame. YOu are required to send in pictures constantly. I hope that the treatment works with the current refinement aligners I am in right now.
Helpful?Tara T.Urbandale, IA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteOverjetI’ve been told basically since my adult teeth came in that I’d need braces. I’ve had a huge gap in my front teeth that I’ve always been super self conscious about, but never wanted to go through with actual metal braces (my brother did and I knew first hand how bad they could suck!) Also as I got older my lower teeth began overcrowding and one tooth was getting severely pushed in. After seeing all the new companies available that offered clear aligners I decided it was finally time to give em a try.
I went with byte because of the overall length of treatment time, cost involved for nighttime, and the user reviews. I spent a long time researching and still feel like I made the best choice.
The impressions were easy to do, just make a couple putty molds of top and bottom teeth, and they had my treatment plan up and running and ready to buy in under a week. My aligners arrived sooner than promised, too (I think around 2-3 weeks.) Their hyperbyte vibrate device was a LIFESAVER when it came to the initial discomfort. You can bank on those first couple days being full of pain! Their device is basically a vibrating mouth piece and I’d recommend buying it regardless of what company you’d use.
My initial treatment was to be 17 sets of upper and lower. Which seemed crazy low since I had a huge gap, but at the end of my 17 sets I easily could have called it finished and my teeth were at exactly what my plan showed. But, since I paid so much for my treatment and they offer a happiness guarantee I let them know there were still a few areas I wasn’t 100% happy with and they really worked with me to make sure I would be.
Initially they had me backtrack a few aligners to see if that helped. My issues were with one of my front teeth still being a little cockeyed (which I still don’t know will ever be fully straight but that’s just due to limitations of aligners period), my bottom teeth not being exactly perfect, and a slight gap in between my canines and incisors that I didn’t care for. Backtracking did help some, to their credit, but was not a fix so they sent me a new impression kit for free and then sent me refinement aligners. I think it took 3 weeks total to get all that done from my asking about refinements to having aligners, SUPER fast turn around considering the amount of new customers they have, and my communication with them was strictly email.
So now I’m in what they call refinements for another 17 sets but realistically if I stopped at any point between now (set 5 of refinements) and the end it was well worth my investment.
I can’t say enough good things about byte, honestly. I don’t know if I just got really great people on my case who replied quickly or what, but my experience has been nothing but positive and I expect it to end positively. The length of time based on my initial expectations doesn’t really matter in the end when my teeth are exactly how I wanted without the cost and pain of actual braces. My overbite/overjet is even vastly improved! I’m really happy and amazed with how my teeth look now.
Helpful?Karen R.San Francisco, CA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingI chose Byte because of their fantastic customer service. I was originally told my aligners would be on for 13 weeks, but I’m over 18 months into the process, and finally at the point where I’m going to finish up. Are my teeth more straight? Yes! Could they be straighter? Yes! Does Byte always have me talk to a live person – who always tells me my options (continue or ask for retainers/finish treatment)? Yes! Would I choose Byte again? Probably. The nighttime treatment would make my life easier. I have to be home to brush and floss right after I eat. My teeth are straighter, even if it has taken over a year longer than I was told it would and my bottom teeth still aren’t exactly straight. I was told over halfway through my treatment to wear the aligners for 2 weeks (not the 1 they told me originally) AND to use the hyper-byte technology (which usually doesn’t turn on anyway) for 20 mins per day (not the 5 mins they told me originally). I wish they would have told me that at the onset. Maybe I wouldn’t still be in aligners.
Helpful?Natale SmithFarmersville, TX2 years agoSpacingMidlineI’ve always been self conscious about my bottom teeth alignment mostly but needed slight straightening on my upper teeth. My upper teeth only took 5 sets and my bottom a total of 17 sets. Im currently on week 15. I’m extremely happy with the treatment and results thus far. I have had so many compliments on my teeth since treatment started. The free teeth whitening is a plus as well and so easy to use. I was also able to get reimbursement from my dental insurance as well. The process getting started was easy as well. I definitely recommend aligners and Byte as a company.
Helpful?Eric ParhamBronx2 years agoSpacingTooth GapGreat company that walks you through the process from beginning to end. Customer service is compassionate and works with you. They have great monthly payment plan you can afford. My treatment process was easy and comfortable.
Helpful?Sonia W.PA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingI started this journey to feel better about myself. The local dentists I went to told me I would not qualify for clear braces. Byte has changed my life…I know that sounds cliche. But I went from trying to hide my smile to showing it off as much as possible. There is some slight discomfort at the beginning of each new aligner. But this goes away within a day or two. I am almost near the end of the treatment and I am so happy with how much progress has been made.
Helpful?Nick B.New York, NY2 years agoCrowdingSpacingI decided to buy aligners because I had never had any dental work done, but I had noticeable crowding among my bottom front teeth that made me self-conscious about my smile. This was also early in the COVID-19 pandemic, so I wasn’t really going anywhere, and I figured it would be easy to keep the aligners on for extended periods of time. I chose Byte because it had good enough reviews and was the cheapest among the options I researched.
Overall, I’m pleased with Byte. As you can see in my progress photo, my treatment is not done yet, despite being predicted to end by mid-2021. My bottom teeth have been exceptionally stubborn, and I am on my third set of adjustment aligners, where I’ve had to be sent more impression kits to craft all new trays to extend my treatment. This has been a pain, but it has all been covered by the Byte guarantee/warrantee, and I’ve done enough research to conclude that this likely isn’t Byte’s fault—there is a danger in trying to move my teeth too quickly. They’ve been fairly responsive to emails, and shipping is generally quite fast. All of this said, I’ve been very happy with the progress I have seen so far, especially as I look back at my before photos.
Helpful?Brittany S.Columbia, SC2 years agoSpacingUnderbiteI chose to go with clean aligners because I talk all day long and didn’t want them to be seen. I was also under the impression that treatment is quicker. I chose Byte because of the ability to use their payment plan which included a longer term product guarantee and the HyperByte was included in the cost. When I started the process, just prior to the pandemic, the customer service response was incredible. As they have grown, it has taken a bit longer to receive a reply, but the replies are genuine and not another “form” email.
I have a Class III underbite that I have always wanted to correct but my parents were against it as a child. As an adult, I had become very self conscious about it. As the treatment has progressed, I am super happy with the results.
I did undergo a revision as I was not 100% happy after the first 12 weeks, knowing that there was still a ways to go. The impressions are super easy to do so the second time around I was much more confident in doing them myself and returning via mail to the company.
Be prepared for sore spots, dry lips, etc that come with regular braces, and know they are painful but it does get better.
You do also have the option to setup a virtual appointment to speak with someone when you have questions. It was so helpful and just wish I had made one sooner in my treatment
I would do it all again in heartbeat.
Helpful?Marissa B.California2 years agoSpacingTooth GapI did research when i was picking out aligner companies. My sister had started her journey with Byte and her progress was amazing just within a few weeks. I had never been happy with my smile and the ease and payment methods were very appealing to me. I was excited when I could see what my smile was going to look like in the end based on the mold of my mouth I sent in. It was so fun to watch my smile change before my eyes, and gain my confidence. I used to never smile and now I can’t stop smiling!
Helpful?Jennifer J.Las Vegas, NV2 years agoSpacingOverbiteByte gave me to confidence to smile and fall in love with my smile again. My teeth were so spaced out that it was so uncomfortable to show my teeth. Thank you byte for making me smile again
Helpful?Nicole DarlingHowell2 years agoCrowdingSpacingMidlineByte has been fantastic, regularly checking in and providing updates and advice along the way. Because of my rather complicated crowding, I went back and redid a few weeks and have only used night aligners so my progress is a little slower but steady and noticeable.
I love the hyperbyte to make things progress more smoothly and more comfortably and the whitener helps as well!
Helpful?Spencer F.Shawnee, KS2 years agoCrowdingSpacingUnderbiteWhen I first ordered the aligners I had my doubts. I had a pretty bad underbite and my dentist had previously told me that I probably wouldn’t like the results. They weren’t super uncomfortable, just a dull ache, but I’m sure they were a lot more comfortable than braces. They fixed my underbite and straightened my teeth. Very impressed with the results.
Helpful?Stephanie L.Whiteland, IN2 years agoSpacingOverbiteMy smile has always been a source of insecurity for me. I grew up with a gap in my teeth and my parents couldn’t afford braces. Byte offered an affordable option that was easy and truly made me more confident with my new smile. They more than met my expectations of closing the gap between my front teeth and straightening my teeth. I would definitely recommend it. It was so easy and affordable. The customer service team is also amazing.
Helpful?Karin B.Washington, DC2 years agoSpacingTooth GapByte has been the easiest, best decision I could have made for my smile. My dentist quoted me over 5k for Invisalign and I immediately looked into other options. byte makes it so easy to take your impressions at home, mail them back and track them. My favorite feature was the 3D modeling they send of your mouth before ordering the retainers,
I haven’t worn retainers since middle school, so getting back into the swing of things wasn’t easy. But I’ve gotten used to having them in now, 22 hours a day if I can.
Helpful?Dannie Lynn M.Seattle, WA2 years agoSpacingTooth GapOverbiteWhen an orthodontist tells you to wear your retainer every night, you should listen. I didn’t. And because of that, I had a gap between my teeth. I wanted to get it fixed, but I’m always traveling, so seeing a dentist for invisible aligners wasn’t really an option. Even so, I was very nervous to try byte, not because of the company or because of invisible aligners, but because I travel so much. In the 12 weeks I had byte, I was on over 45 flights, in three different countries, and in nearly 20 different cities. I was worried that invisible aligners would add unnecessary headache to my travel days – especially trying to use them on long haul flights. However, in reality, byte was very easy to use, even when traveling! Now, I’m much more confident in my smile and love the way it looks. More than that though, I’ve seen my general confidence increase. And the maintenance has been easy too – two years out and my teeth still look as good as they did the day I finished my Byte treatment.
Helpful?Bryn P.North East, MD2 years agoSpacingOverbiteOpen BiteI have never had any dental work other than cleanings so I wanted to pull my teeth in as they protruded forward. I researched several companies and Byte seemed best. I was suppose to have 6 months of treatment but my test are still not to my satisfaction. I definitely see improvement but not what they showed would have happened. Customer service is ok. They do respond but it takes a few days and they constantly asked for new photos. I believe byte is a good company but couldn’t quite fulfill my expectations.
Helpful?Yolanda MendozaHouston Tx2 years agoSpacingI was very hesitant to try this because there was no in office consultation or doctor i would be seeing. And the cost is a little to much for me to pay in full, but they offer a payment plan which is great! I had braces 13 years ago, but my retainers got old and I was never able to get another pair from my orthodontist. So far my teeth have looked even better then before! And if I lose my retainers or break them, I get to have another pair on them! It’s very easy and I even received a whitening kit free! I truly recommend Byte!
Helpful?Sam StoneBristol, CT2 years agoSpacingTooth GapFor 29 years I’ve had spacing that I’ve always been self conscious of, I decided to go with byte because they were a cheaper option. I’ve had a pleasant experience with byte both with customer service and my treatment plan. I’ve been able to switch aligners every 7 days as instructed and have already completed my bottom trays. I have noticed that spacing seems to be an easy fix, I’ve seen that some people trying to fix a crowding issue need multiple refinements at times and go well beyond the 7 days before switching trays. I definitely recommend byte if you’re fixing a spacing issue.
Helpful?Brittany W.United States2 years agoCrowdingSpacingAfter failing to wear my retainer as a teenager, I decided to purchase clear aligners for another chance at having straight teeth. Overall, my teeth weren’t really that bad, but the crowding in the bottom made flossing and cleanings at the dentist painful. I chose this company after hours of research because of the amount of positive experiences I read about and the byte for life guarantee. The company did not meet my expectations. Once receiving my aligners, I haven’t really been contacted at all to check on my progress and wasn’t given any instructions on “checking in” with Byte. The company could do a better job of providing patients with what to do after receving aligners. I believe it also very unrealistic that most patients can switch aligners each week. I’ve had to wear some aligners 3+ weeks. Customer support isn’t the greatest.
I’m almost 2 years into treatment that was supposed to be a 12 week plan. I’ve had to do “refinements” twice. Refinements are when you have to send in a new impression and they make you more/different aligners. The impression kit was fairly easy to understand, getting great impressions the first time was impossible for me and quite the struggle the second time. I believe my first set of aligners were made with “bad” impressions.
My advice for anyone considering aligners is go to your local dentist/orthodontist and opt for Invisalign. I know it can be more expensive, especially if you need extensive adjusting, but at least that way you know you’re getting aligners made from a good impression, don’t have to worry about damaging your teeth/gums, and a professional to regularly oversee treatment.
Helpful?Kerri R.Shipman2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapI decided to purchase clear aligners because I was hoping to correct my crowding on my bottom teeth and spacing on my top teeth. I chose Byte because they had the lowest price in the shortest amount of time. I also chose Byte because of their smile guarantee. The impression kit was a bit uncomfortable, but I was able to make the impressions without issues. Customer support was great throughout my journey and my questions were answered promptly and professionally. I am very pleased with my Byte journey and would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t feel 100% about their smile. I am very excited to be completed with mine in just 3-4 weeks!
