Crowded teeth can result in a wide variety of problems, from painful jaw joints to difficulty keeping all tooth surfaces clean. It’s natural to want to give those teeth space and bring them into alignment. Byte claims their aligners can resolve mild-to-moderate cases of crowding and spacing — but does the experience of actual customers support this?
Check out the authentic customer reviews below covering their experiences using Byte for teeth crowding.
Smile Prep offers readers a small financial incentive in exchange for their unbiased reviews. We require proof of purchase before accepting reviews, and all reviewers must have completed at least three months of aligner treatment. I lost one set of aligners but I called and got them replaces right away! They came in a few days. The impression kit was very straight forward and easy to complete. I have seen improvement in my teeth without having to get braces!
Helpful?Cassandra ParrishOklahoma City, OK4 years agoCrowdingI am finished with my original aligners but during the last couple lower aligners one of my teeth somehow went a wrong direction and my bottom teeth are slightly crooked. So I contacted customer service and they assured me this is something that happens sometimes and based on thier smile guarantee they sent me a new impression kit and I filed a little correction with new pictures.
I just mailed the impression kit yesterday but I am sure at this point that my issues will be corrected shortly with a few new aligners.
Helpful?Rachel A.Saginaw1 year agoCrowdingOverbiteI do enjoy the aligners and do think they make a difference. The original treatment plan had me wear each one for a week but there was still a lot of air gaps. Now I have to wear them for 2 weeks each. I have like 20 for the bottom and 10 for the top which Is weird because my top are much worse.
I do wish I would have opted for the night aligners instead. Additionally their customer service is AWFUL. It takes them so long to get back to you and it’s a generic and unhelpful response.
Helpful?Sarah S.Bloomington, IL1 year agoCrowdingI was so excited to complete this process. I chose Byte for the overnight option and the guarantee that they offer. Unfortunately for me, it turned out to be a complete waste of money and I was advised by my dentist and an endodontist to discontinue treatment early. An X-ray revealed trauma that was likely caused by the retainers, and continued use would likely result in a root canal. This issue is apparently very in line with my orthodontic history, so it is odd that I was deemed a good candidate to begin with. I would not recommend to any friends, family, or strangers. This has been a negative, costly experience.
Helpful?Victoria H.Florida1 year agoCrowdingOverbiteWhat made me want to decide to purchase aligners is because I had crooked bottom teeth, and it was an insecurity of mine. I chose this company because it was affordable, and it met my budget. I was very supportive of this company, because I had faith that it would help me. I was positively surprised by this company because it met my expectations. Lastly, my advice for anyone that wants to consider this company would just be to stay consistent with your treatment, and make all the payments and on time.
Helpful?Kayla R.Grove City, OH1 year agoCrowdingSpacingI had gone through braces and a pallet expander when I was in middle school. I was not given the option to have a retainer afterwards and over time my teeth started to crowd in the front. I was not happy with how they look and when I discovered Byte was less of a cost I was very happy with choosing this company. I would highly suggest them and purchasing the package for lost/damaged/lifetime warranty.
Helpful?Daniela R.United States1 year agoCrowdingI was excited to have this product after having braces I didn’t use my retainer and my teeth shifted. The aligners moved my back molars when I contacted support with concern they denied that this could happen. And said this could not happen thier aligners. I had a dentist checkup before starting the treatment so I knew it wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t sure what do after the customer service response and asked for a refund because I had no progress after weeks of following the treatment they refused and I had to go through my bank. Please save your money these treatments do not work!!!
Helpful?Wil A.USA2 years agoCrowdingMy upper teeth were always crooked and a big insecurity of mine. I never liked smiling because of it. I started Byte and it has been great. Their customer service is amazing, everything they say is very detailed and informal. Their treatment is shorter than others because they have a special bytebrite which is kind of like a mouth guard that vibrates. They provide you with various payment plans which is very helpful.
Helpful?Hilary P.Pittsburgh, PA2 years agoCrowdingI noticed that my teeth were beginning to crowd together and making my smile look different. Also I was having pain from the teeth moving. After treatment my teeth are more aligned so they look prettier and I no longer have pain from them being squished into each other. I decided to get treatment before the condition worsened so my treatment time was a bit shorter than most but still worth it for the results that I got.
Helpful?Alice L.NY2 years agoCrowdingI purchased byte aligners because I was very insecure my crowded teeth. They would prevent me from smiling in pictures and such. I have been very happy thus far. I have been wearing each set for a few weeks to prevent damage from moving teeth too quickly. One of my teeth was not tracking so I contacted Byte and within a few weeks after new impressions I had refinements. I see so much progress with my smile and the confidence boost is amazing. A much cheaper alternative to braces for people who want to be more discreet and have minor crowding.
Helpful?Caitlyn H.Tucson, AZ2 years agoCrowdingMidlineI originally bought aligners because I was self conscious about a tooth in my bottom row that was getting more and more out of line. Byte seemed like a really great option since it was affordable and had a nighttime only option. I’ve had a mixed experience so far, though. I’ve followed my instructions for the most part (their was an extra device that broke for me a few months ago, so I chew on a bit of cloth to get the aligners settled now), but it’s taken way longer than the estimated six months for the nighttime aligners. I wish I’d gone with the all day ones, since I feel like it would be finished by now. The Byte team doesn’t proactively reach out very often. I feel like it’d be a bit better experience with more regular check-ins from them. Overall, I’m going to finish my treatment and I know my teeth are getting straighter, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the night aligners from Byte to someone else.
Helpful?Erika W.Erika W.2 years agoCrowdingI decided to purchase aligners to correct some minor overcrowding that I wasn’t happy with. I ultimately chose Byte because of their great prices, excellent reviews, great customer service, and the availability of an online social media community for Byte patients to ask questions and share tips. I am always able to reach someone via telephone and receive answers to my questions. The impression kit was easy to use and I was shocked that my day-one aligners fit as I was originally worried that I didn’t do so well on the impression kit. I would highly recommend Byte to anyone interested in correcting their teeth, especially for minor cases such as mine. I have seen a lot of progress in just 3 months and I’m very pleased with the results thus far.
Helpful?Jesse W.Conneaut, Ohio2 years agoCrowdingSpacingMy teeth are the first thing you notice about me and I definitely have never liked them. I was looking at options and wanted to find some decently priced and so I stumbled upon byte. Byte molding was easy – the clear braces they send you can really hurt your teeth. I was always bleeding.
Towards the end of my treatment I really couldn’t tell a big difference like it wasn’t what I thought they would turn out to be. I wanted more straighter teeth and one of my teeth was still pushed back. I don’t like having the clear wear in my mouth either – several sores and gum cutting going on. I have permanent scars in my mouth from them. My teeth also wiggle ALOT and it’s very annoying. I will definitely say go to the dentist.
Helpful?Abigail H.Jackson, MS2 years agoCrowdingI wore braces as a kid for about 18 months when I was about 10 years old. Over the years, my teeth shifted significantly and I was having a lot of crowding in my upper and lower front teeth. After reading lots of reviews, I decided to try Byte as they were an at home service with easy access to customer service. However, I was really disappointed by my experience. I wore my initial set of aligners for 12 weeks and had a lot of changes in my back teeth, but it worsened the crowding of my front teeth. It also messed up my bite, so that my teeth no longer touched in the front when I smiled. I reached out to the Byte customer service team and they sent more mold sets and sent me aligners for another 12 weeks. Again, I saw no improvement. After spending over $2000 on aligners only for my teeth to get worse, I finally gave up. The aligners were also incredibly painful, to the point that I had trouble sleeping at night. Even though the customer service was really responsive, I felt that the service and aligners weren’t effective at all, and it was definitely a huge waste of money.
Helpful?Zoe K.Marion, OH2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteI decided to purchase aligners from Byte because my teeth were crowded on the top and spaced apart on the bottom. Byte only cost me around $2,000. Other aligner companies charged more. They did not meet my expectations. They take a long time to answer. The “retainer” is just another aligner that you are supposed to change every six months. The aligners are painful. The hyperbyte helps the pain some. However, everytime I change aligners I have to use gum relief gel. I recommend using the hyperbyte more than the recommended 5 minutes a day. The aligners gets cloudy fast even when you follow Byte’s cleaning directions. The aligner cleaner/whitening foam is over $20 per little bottle. It last me about a month.
Helpful?Lauren D.Holly2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI have always felt self-conscious about my bottom front tooth that is crowded and doesn’t look good in my mouth. After getting some unexpected money I decided that it was time to try and fix the problem. I decided to try and start with Byte and was very hopeful that it might help. I was excited by the packaging, the ease of use and the customer service with Byte. I have not had any results yet. I have contacted them and had them send new retainers twice but I have not seen results yet. I wear them every day and they encouraged me to use the “hyperbyte,” which I do try and use when I have time. About 4 times a week. I included a picture to show that unfortunately several thousands of dollars later and I don’t feel like it’s been much of a difference.
Helpful?Kelly Lynn R.Las Vegas, NV3 years agoCrowdingI have tooth crowding and don’t like my smile at all, I chose Byte because I had googled companies with the highest ratings and it was pretty much smile direct club and Byte. I tried to contact smile direct with some questions but they didn’t answer the specific questions I was asking it was just generic. I felt like they didn’t care to take time to address my concerns.
However Byte did they answered all my questions and in a timely manor, customer support is very helpful every time I’ve had a question. The impression kit I got at a very low cost it was toward the new year so I believe it was only 20$! Everything was done through the mail the impression kit was very easy to do. They also sent me the snow whitening kit which was really a plus for me. I’m currently still doing my treatment.
Helpful?Heather R.Wooster1 year agoCrowdingSnaggletoothOverbiteI didn’t have the time or the money to do traditional braces again. Byte had the best reviews when it came to an online option. From the impressions to receiving the aligners, it’s been super easy! Byte has been very quick and responsive! I’m only months into my 5 month process, and I can finally smile again!
Helpful?Brieanna C.Upland CA1 year agoCrowdingI chose to get aligners due to losing my retainer as a teenager. This caused one tooth to pop out not in alignment with the others. I chose Byte after a friend recommended them. I feel that the support team was okay except when the treatment plan wasn’t going well. They made me jump through hoops to get a revision. I’m going on over year of treatment and was supposed to be done in three months. I have hopped teeth due to the aligners. I would tell others to use a company that you see in person instead of Byte.
Helpful?Kristal S.Santa Ana, CA2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteI decided to go for the clear aliners due to the fact that I hated my teeth and being 43 years old I didn’t want braces. I decided to try them after my oldest son had great results with them. The process to set up was very easy. They sent me the kids – it was very easy to use. The customer service has been great every time I’ve had a question they are very responsive. I have been wearing my liners for about 6 months now and I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my smile especially in my front teeth which were very crowded. My treatment is taking a little longer than originally planned but that’s my own fault because I’m not always a 100% with wearing them. I am very happy with the results so far.
Helpful?Allie H.KY2 years agoCrowdingDecent product. You can see that my teeth have shifted, but they did not track with the original plan. I was supposed to complete treatment in 15-weeks. I have been using the trays for over a year now. My front teeth crowding is still prevalent and I know I have a ways to go.
Helpful?Ashley W.Huntington, AR2 years agoCrowdingI chose Byte to fix some crowding issues due to my wisdom teeth coming in. The financing options they have are great and the impression kit to start was super easy! I would recommend Byte to anyone needing help. Their customer service team was awesome in fixing any issues or answering questions I had.
Helpful?Adaobi U.Peoria, IL2 years agoCrowdingI had braces in high school, and my wisdom teeth came in after they were removed and caused some noticeable shifting in my front teeth. I wasn’t happy with my smile for years but I didn’t have the means to do anything about it until I found Byte.
Helpful?Tara ShottsCoal Creek, CO2 years agoCrowdingI decided to start The aligners because I was self-conscious about my smile and I had always wanted braces but my parents couldn’t afford to fix my teeth as they weren’t as bad as my siblings. I chose this company because the reviews were great people are saying great things about them and honestly they were the most affordable and the offer payment options which is great for us because we need payment options. They did meet my expectations and exceeded them I feel they have helped me with confidence and when I need help they help me which is great for the customer support.
The impressions kit was very simple easy they sent it to us someone was emailing me and texting me making sure that I didn’t have any questions and if I did just to text her which is great that I was able to have her right there at my fingertips. I finished the impressions and sent them back in the mail and a few weeks later I was excepted paid for my aligners and then they sent me my aligners. Advice I would give somebody looking at this company is to make sure you have a support system if not get into the Facebook group that BYTE has to offer because there’s a lot of amazing people in there that will cheer you on and help you. Trust the process it is a long process these things don’t happen overnight and without having a dentist there to tell you these things sometimes you forget but it is working it is going to move your teeth just take the time do what you need to do follow the program and find yourself a BYTE buddy.
Helpful?Kelsey S.San Antonio, TX2 years agoCrowdingCrossbiteByte is honestly a company that lives on being “good enough”. I wasn’t happy with my results after I completed my treatment so they sent me additional slingers, again wasn’t happy so they sent more & after that I gave up. My teeth definitely look better, but are they great? No. Are they straight? Not really. I paid almost 2k & I now have to go get braces to actually fix my teeth. Their customer service doesn’t seem to care based on my experience & the comments I’ve seen from others.
Helpful?Tabitha F.Lenexa, KS2 years agoCrowdingUnderbiteMidlineI liked the idea of invisible aligners because I am in my mid 20’s and didn’t want to deal with the embarrassment or pain of braces. I liked the fact that aligners were essentially invisible. I did have a slight lisp for the first few weeks until I got use to them. An added bonus was weight loss due to not being able to eat while wearing them. A couple of pairs were a little uncomfortable on my gums but I would usually just file it down and it wouldn’t bother me as much.
Helpful?Kimberly M.TUMWATER2 years agoCrowdingSpacingI decided to go with Byte because it was cheaper than other brands. They also offer a lifetime guarantee on your smile so I was sold. I had braces before and I was not a fan, got them off and went years without treatment. I had weird spacing from extracted teeth and some even turned sideways, ugh! But Byte said they could help. Anytime I contacted customer service I received a polite response and they always seemed willing to help. I would highly recommend Byte plus you get some free teeth whitener!
Helpful?Sarah G.Ozark, MO2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteThe journey with byte has been rather simple. I chose byte due to the reasonable cost and exceptional reviews. So far they have been very accessible for any questions or concerns that have arisen. I had some over crowding on my bottom and top teeth that I was trying to get straightened. These aligners work! The impressions were a little tricky – felt like they were going to pull my teeth out with them, but fear not! I still have them all.
Helpful?Angela P.United States2 years agoCrowdingI loved my Byte experience. Byte is very affordable compared to other aligners and much more convenient. My main concern was correcting my front tooth that was crooked, and Byte was able to easily correct it in 15 weeks. I really like how Byte has the hyper Byte, something that other aligner brands do not offer. The Impression kit was very easy to do. Bytes customer service was always available to answer my questions. I love this company and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to straighten their teeth!
Helpful?Kelly G.San Diego3 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothMidlineI have never been more shocked on how easy and quick this Byte program is. Only 16 weeks of wearing aligners while I sleep and I get straight teeth. Also they come with a whitener and I love that! My teeth don’t even hurt at all during this process.
