Crowded teeth can result in a wide variety of problems, from painful jaw joints to difficulty keeping all tooth surfaces clean. It’s natural to want to give those teeth space and bring them into alignment. Byte claims their aligners can resolve mild-to-moderate cases of crowding and spacing — but does the experience of actual customers support this?

I had a lot of alignment issues and it turns out that my snaggle tooth wasn’t the part of my smile that drained my confidence the most. Aligning the overall look of my teeth made me so much more willing to smile and show off my teeth! Bytes “for-life” guarantee is what drew me to Byte and is the reason that I will recommend Byte above other companies. They may do things a little cheaper, have thinner aligners and be working out the kinks of being a newer business, but they value their customer and stick to their guarantees!

Helpful?Casey F.Pennsylvania2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI chose to purchase invisible aligners because although I always had somewhat straight teeth growing up I saw imperfections that no one else did. I hated how crowded they looked and had one front tooth that stuck out slightly more than the rest. I needed a change. I chose to purchase BYTE invisible aligners because I was constantly seeing ads for it on Instagram and had a friend who recently purchased them as well. I would say they met my expectations a considerable amount. Their main concern isn’t the speed of your treatment, but that it’s completed properly.
For instance, I was given 10 trays (both top and bottom) to start but required 13 for my top. I was only given the remaining 3 after I had emailed byte support pictures of my 10th trays in. Upon observing them, they noticed bubbles in certain areas and told me I should go back to using my 9th trays because the 10th tray was not fitting as tightly as it should. At that point in time I was upset with their recommendation because I wanted to finish treatment and they simply would not send the last trays without proof that I was following the proper steps to gaining my perfect smile. Now having completed all of my trays, and having had my perfect smile for months I am glad they made me wait.
My advice for anyone that wants to do this is to be patient and don’t give up, this company is excellent at answering emails and any questions you have. You can also contact them by phone for further explanation. Overall I had a very positive experience with this company and have recommended them to several others who are now participating in byte treatment.
Helpful?Alexis FOregon4 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteI chose Byte for the Smile Guarantee, which I ended up taking advantage of. It worked for the most part. My bottom teeth were really crowded and the top had some spaces and twisted teeth. Byte totally fixed my top teeth and I love the results. My bottom teeth though got a little funky. Since the teeth were so crowded, by the end of my 3 month program, I told them that my teeth were still slightly crooked and that one of my teeth in the front appeared shorter than the rest. With the Smile Guarantee they sent me a whole new 3 month set of aligners to try again, even for the top teeth! I’m so thankful for that. My top teeth look even better, and the bottoms are still a little crooked and I still have a tooth on the bottom that is shorter than the others….but they did what they could with the technology, and I’m honestly surprised they worked this well and so fast.
Overall, I got exactly what I wanted! After I go to my dentist to shave my teeth (to make them all the same size) my smile journey will be totally complete! Sorry for the ugly pics, since I have an overbite I have to smile weird to show my teeth! Also, the first pic is actually about a month into my aligners.
Helpful?Brianna B.Barberton, OH2 years agoCrowdingI had braces in high school and lost my retainer before I had my wisdom teeth taken out, and since my wisdom teeth were impacted it cause my teeth to move a lot. Not as bad as before braces but not pretty. I missed having straight teeth but was not about to do normal braces again. I researched a few at home aligners since they were cheaper than invisalign and because I wanted just generally straighter teeth. Byte had a deal with $15 impression kit and that’s when I decided to try them. They have exceeded my expectations so far. Their customer service is great. They do checkups too. When I was done with the bottom arch they actually asked me to wear the trays (both top and bottom) I was on for 2 weeks longer since I had some air gaps, and at the end of the 2 weeks I understood why. They say you can change them every 7 to 10 days with the use of hyperbyte if you’ve worn them at least 22 hrs a day. But sometimes you need longer. I love the cleaning foam keeps them clear. No one can tell you’re wearing them unless you point it out. I have 2 trays left for the top and I have already begun smiling with my teeth in pictures.
Helpful?Jade H.Atlanta, GA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteThe aligners worked good and very accurate considering that you take the impressions at home yourself. At first, the aligners will create a little tingling pressure on your teeth that will take some initial pushing through of the pain for the first couple days. You will get used to it and like the feeling because if means they are working 😅 I feel so much more confident now and I’m glad to have had the option to try Byte aligners. I feel like they have really straightened out my teeth.
Helpful?Melanie V.Madison, WI2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteCrossbiteThe first set (upper and lower) fit perfectly, so I guess I followed the directions correctly for the 2 sets of teeth impressions. Putting them in was a breeze and they fit snug on my teeth. I do have a slight lisp when I talk with them in and they are noticeable when I bite down, but thinking that might get better as I adjust to them.
My personal interactions and conversations with the company have been very good. I do realize they are geared towards selling a product, but my representative was very knowledgeable and straight forward when I asked about success rates, complaints, and complications. At no point have I been informed that this works for everyone or assured that it would even work 100% as planned for me.
Each new aligner set is snug when first put in, but by the end of the week has adjusted my teeth enough that they are easy to put in and take out.
Super impressed with how my teeth are aligning and no complications at all. I know this option may not be for everyone, but I am now at the point that I have seen great results and would urge you to try if you are at all curious.
The clear aligners are the best invention I have ever used and I’m one that had actual metal braces on my teeth in the past. The only issue I have run into is my insurance company has continually asked for additional information (3 separate times), so I am still waiting for the reimbursement to be approved and received. Even if for some odd reason the insurance didn’t come through, I would have chosen to do it all over again and because of the pricing I really can’t complain.
Helpful?Brianna J.Buffalo3 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteI chose Byte because I read that they had really good customer service which was really important to me. I wanted to have someone there every step of the way and I definitely got that. The impressions kit was pretty simple (but uncomfortable) to do.
My biggest concern was my gap between my two front teeth and that has definitely been fixed. However, the crowding in my bottom teeth was not fixed and I need to get more aligners than I was originally supposed to have to correct it. What is nice about that though, is that I don’t have to pay any additional money for my refinement aligners. As for the aligners themselves, I definitely had some fit issues in my molars but the hyper Byte definitely helped with that and I got instructions to follow from customer service.
Overall, I’d give Byte 4/5 because it fixed my main concern, but I’ll still need more aligners to fix my secondary issue.
UPDATE November 2020: This company did a great job with my gap, however, I still have crowding in my bottom teeth even after my treatment. I’m currently waiting for refinement aligners and it’s taking about 2 months and my current aligners are starting to fall apart. Crossing my fingers that they get here soon! 🤞
Helpful?Kirsten C.Jacksonville, FL2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothHonestly I decided to start an aligner treatment to improve my self confidence and stop being so insecure about smiling and laughing. I did research on numerous different companies before choosing one I thought was right for me which ended up being Byte. I chose Byte because of their customer service reviews, reputation on the BBB, and their price. When I did the impressions kit I wasn’t sure they could even help me. I thought the over crowding I had was going to be something I needed traditional braces for but I figured I would give it a shot.
To my surprise, Byte said they could help! They showed me my treatment plan and sent out my aligners and I was beyond excited. During the process, customer service has been great. Anytime something wasn’t quite fitting or feeling right I reached out and they worked to fix it right away. After completing my initial sets of aligners there were still some things I wanted to adjust about my smile and they have been so wonderful at helping me to achieve those goals. My treatment has lasted a little longer than normal but that’s because of the adjustments and I appreciate all they have been doing. Overall I would 100% recommend this company and getting clear aligners!
Helpful?Chris G.Phoenix, AZ2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteI decided to purchase Byte aligners because my teeth were not aligned properly for much of my life and I could not afford braces when I was younger. I chose Byte as it seemed like an affordable option that would help my issue within a reasonable about of time. My treatment was only supposed to take roughly four months and although I was skeptical I understood adjustments would need to be made according to what I needed. I did not expect to still be wearing aligners over a year and a half later. The issue with Byte is that every time you talk to someone in customer service, whether via email or phone, it is someone new who does not have any prior knowledge of your treatment. I repeatedly had to ask every person to read prior notes/history so I would not have to continue to repeat myself every time I got on the phone. Overall, I have had to have 35 sets of aligners after an initially prescribed 17, this seems like a severe miscalculation. As I said, I understand that adjustments need to be made throughout the process, but the lack of customized support really made this an unbearable process. I would not recommend this company to anybody planning to go through similar treatment, the only reason I gave three stars was because I am happy with the end result.
Helpful?Chris J.Atlanta, GA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapI’ve wanted to close my gap for as long as I can remember; I may not have ever pulled the trigger if it weren’t for Byte and their unique system which includes the HyperByte and BrightByte. Their customer service is on point, and the whole treatment is very reasonably priced compared to the other brands on the market.
In less than 3 months of treatment, my gap almost fully closed. And over the next several weeks, my few wayward teeth will continue to straighten per the plan from the #Byte doctors and experts.
I’m going into the 10th month of the program and coming down the home stretch to completing my Byte journey. I did the nighttime aligners which require me to wear the aligners 10+ hours per day (even tho over time I wore them most of the day also); the daytime aligners require you to wear them 22+ hours a day. The company does a great job with sales and customer service. Their medical director @drjonmarashi is awesome!! The two things that made me go with Byte over the others (outside of their customer service) was pricing and the HyperByte-the device that sonically helps to cut your program time while helping to alleviate the pain/discomfort that comes with shifting your teeth. Hopefully, this helps those thinking about getting aligners.
If you’re considering a clear aligner system, give Byte a closer look.
Helpful?Kadi SandersFresno, CA2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothOverbiteI chose Byte as my aligner company. They got back to me with a treatment plan quickly and they give you an electronic model of what your teeth will look like with each aligner which is really cool. They also give you several payment plans to choose from, or you can pay up front to avoid interest. I had crowding on my bottom teeth with one that protruded out, which always caused me to bite my lip. This was initially the reason I wanted the treatment. I also had a top tooth that stuck out more than all the others that was fixed as well. Communication with them was great, and when I needed to extend my aligner plan they sent aligners out quickly. If you choose byte, there is a lifetime guarantee but be aware that if you lose any of your aligners it voids that plan. I gave four stars because there was two teeth on the bottom that didn’t correct all the way, but it could be based on the size of my jaw, and I was still happy with the end results and definitely recommend them. Not only did it fix the issues with biting my lip, but it straightened up my teeth and improved the crowding.
Helpful?Alaena C.Collingswood, NJ2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteMidlineI’ve had issues with my smile for years now, once I had what was considered the “best” teeth in my family… UP UNTIL my brothers all got braces. I don’t like my smile, never really have, so when I was searching for a system to use I really weighed out my options. UNFORTUNATELY byte doesn’t take my insurance (or honor my old one) – so when I figured they were who I wanted to go with I had to start on a payment plan (that i’m still paying off). Aside from that however, my time with byte has been fantastic. Firstly, they provide you with hyperbyte which is a unique tool used to assist the aligners in shifting your teeth into place and easing any pain. Then they provide you with a foam solution to be able to cleanse the aligners as well as whiten your teeth at the same time (doesn’t taste half bad either truthfully). There are downsides too though but those are entirely on me… In all honesty I SHOULD be on week 16 or so but i’m on week 4 because for a while I was sick and chose not to wear my aligners, and then other days when I finally would I took them out midday and forgot to put them back in because I didn’t have toothpaste or a toothbrush on me to clean my teeth after eating and they instruct you to have clean teeth before putting them in. I should’ve really purchased the night time as opposed to day time so when making your decision be careful in your selection.
Helpful?Madeline M.West Boylston, MA2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteSo for a long time I wanted to straighten out my crowding issue. I decided to try clear aligners since they aren’t very noticeable. I chose Byte because they had great reviews and the price was reasonable. The hyperbyte device was also a huge selling point since the claim is that it speeds up the alignment time.
Sadly, these aligners were not as comfortable as they say they are, even after filing the edges down. My mouth was all cut inside and was sore from the cuts. I contacted them and they said they were sorry for the discomfort but that my mouth would get used to it. I tried for a week and just couldn’t do it. I decided I could only wear these at night. They said that’s fine but that I should double my hyperbyte time and double the time of wearing each aligner which was fine. So I did that.
At the end of my time, even after wearing that last aligner for a couple months, the retainer they sent me was no where near fitting me. I asked them for a new one and they said I’d have to do the aligners ALL OVER AGAIN! I was not happy about that so I just used the last aligner as a retainer. Then eventually just stopped using it. My teeth are very slightly straighter. Not by much at all. The crowding issue is the same for too and bottom. Overbite is also the same.
The customer service is super kind BUT sadly they can only do what the company is capable of. I personally wouldn’t suggest them.
Helpful?Juliette SherrillSurprise, AZ2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteCrossbiteI want to start by saying if you’re not motivated and consistent, this will not work. My treatment was going great for a while and then I kept forgetting to put the aligners in and one tooth was stubborn and would not move so I lost motivation. I eventually started back up again but basically from week 1. If you’re consisted and motivated, this is a great way to straighten your teeth without braces, but stay consistent or it will not work! I would recommend because it is cheaper than braces and easier if you don’t want to deal with having braces and bands and wires in your mouth, and it’s all from home so there are no dentist visits
Helpful?Alyssa K.Swanton, Vermont2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteYears after having braces my teeth moved significantly and were very crowded especially on the bottom. I had looked into other options but byte was shorter treatment, more affordable and the customer service really convinced me to pull the trigger! Everything down to the packaging was so well thought out. The hyperbyte was easy to use and my treatment went by in a flash. When I got to the end and had one tooth that wasn’t quite where I wanted, they sent me 4 more trays for free. It’s now been almost 2 years since I finished treatment and my teeth still look great! I would recommend byte to anyone looking to fix their smile and their confidence.
Helpful?Molly FUSA4 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI love Byte. I struggled for years with being self conscious about my smile. Byte is affordable, has excellent customer service, and listened to all of my requests. My teeth were transformed in just four months and at the end of my treatment, I had a few minor issues I still wanted to address. Byte had me take new molds and designed another round of treatment for me. The best part? That was all covered under the smile guarantee and I didn’t pay anything extra! I recommend Byte to anyone looking to improve their smile!
Helpful?Jenny J.Boston, MA2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteI had previously worn braces over 20 years ago and due to not being consistent with my retainers my teeth shifted tremendously, especially my bottom teeth. Byte is a convenient and quick process that completely changed my smile. It honestly wasn’t until I wrote this review and took a look at my before & after photos where I realized how drastic the transformation was. It’s absolutely amazing.
Helpful?Lauren N.Bowie, MD1 year agoCrowdingI decided to purchase aligners because I had braces for three years in high school, but I didn’t wear my retainer very often so my teeth shifted. The shift wasn’t too much so I did my research on aligners and decided to go with it. I did consult with my dentist beforehand about it and she agreed.
I was hoping to correct my bottom teeth the most because they were beginning to crowd again. One tooth was noticeably higher than the others. I still wish my bottom teeth would’ve gotten straighter, but Byte insisted that my teeth were fine and I didn’t need refinements. My top teeth are perfect and I only wore the aligners for 6 weeks. I had bottom aligners for 14 weeks, but I believe I could’ve used another 1 or 2 weeks.
I knew my teeth would hurt since I had braces in the past but the first morning after putting in your new set is pretty painful. Always make sure you take some Ibuprofen because you might need it. Also, after completing my plan, I noticed that my bite had changed slightly, but I got used to it very fast. Lastly, if you still have your wisdom teeth, mine began shifting under my gums after completing my treatment which was also painful (unfortunately, I can never get mine out)
Overall, it was a good experience and I’m glad I did it when I did because my college graduation pictures looked so nice!
Helpful?Amber G.Kentucky2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothOverbiteI heard about Byte on tik tok LOL. I actually chose them because they had the best deal out of anyone else I researched. My impressions came out perfect because my aligners fit perfectly every time. The process is super easy and if you ever need help from the customer support they will always reach out to you sometimes even when you don’t ask at all. They are wonderful. They are a legit team that knows what they are doing. I am just now almost half way done and my results are phenomenal. Plus if you have good insurance like me that helps a lot too. And if you don’t they will finance them. I would definitely give it a shot. They are amazing!
Helpful?Alli B.Arkansas2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI chose to do at-home aligners because the problems I wanted fixed weren’t major and being in college had made my wallet pretty thin. So, after doing some serious research I chose Byte. I decided to use this company for 2 reasons. Their pricing was one of the best on the market and their customer reviews were outstanding. Now, the reason I gave them 3 stars out of 5 is because at the end of my treatment plan I was nowhere near the point they had predicted.
After contacting them and alerting my team of my concerns they helped me to setup another round of aligners to hopefully create our desired results. So, my original 15 weeks turned into another 15 weeks after 3 months of waiting for my second set to arrive. And if they had worked this wouldn’t have been a big deal, but after all that the aligners caused one of my teeth to become more crooked than it was before.. I wouldn’t not recommend them because they do seem to have an amazing team and customer support, but it was kind of a waste for me personally because now I’m going to have to get traditional braces anyway.
Helpful?Sarah A.Statesboro, GA2 years agoCrowdingI had braces in high school but about 2012 I stopped wearing my retainer. Bad decision because my teeth moved and ended up being worse than before braces. I chose byte after comparing prices and also seeing that they only use orthodontists instead of a mix of orthodontists and dentists. Did they meet my expectations? Hmmmm well they say 3-4 months and you’re done…no, no you’re not.
Here’s a summary of my treatment.
I received 15 aligners back in January. About 8 weeks in I realized I had a gap between my teeth and the aligners that kept getting worse. I contacted byte and after about 3 weeks, they inform me they need to send me a new impression kit and new “refinement” aligners. Finally after about a 6 week wait, I received another 13 weeks of aligners. Sadly I wish that was the end but my teeth again weren’t moving right and now I am in my 3rd set of aligners with another 11 weeks left (remember I started in January and I’ve had braces before so my teeth weren’t THAT bad).
All in all as much as I sound like I’m complaining, I’ve learned what to do and what not to so. Do NOT contact them via email because you will not get a response, make an appointment under your account and you will talk with someone over zoom that next day usually. Do NOT move forward to your next aligner after 7 days like they recommend, WAIT until you have noooooo gap between your teeth and the aligner – this can take up to two weeks. This can double your treatment plan BUT save you from multiple impression kits and save you from possibly tripling your treatment plan. I would use this company again but I wish they would stress more the importance of staying in your aligner over 7 days to get rid of all aligners gaps.
Helpful?Marvin L.Baltimore2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI purchased the aligners because I’ve wanted to correct my teeth for over 10 years. Byte seemed easy and had a good payment plan. So far my expectations have been met. I wanted to correct my overall smile with a focus on 2 snaggleteeth and some crowding.
The impression kit was very simple for me, I followed directions to the tee and had no issues. I personally think Byte is great for minor teeth straightening issues. E.I crowding or gaps. I think a person should consider how severe their case is before investing in Byte. Mine was low/medium so BYTE has been great for me! Also being committed and consistent is VERY important! I have not missed a single day without brushing/flossing 3+ times a day and keeping the aligners in the recommended time.
Helpful?Elizabeth J.Boise, ID2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteAfter years of wanting to correct my teeth I finally decided to do something about it. I had braces when I was younger and my teeth have since moved. I started researching companies and had an Invisalign consultation. After being told the cost of Invisalign I knew I couldn’t afford that and looked for more affordable options. After reading multiple reviews and doing impression kits for both Byte and Smile Direct Club, I ultimately decided to go with Byte. Their customer service far exceeded SDC for me. I have had nothing but a positive experience with Byte thus far. Each time I have reached out with questions, the response time has been quick and helpful. I am still going through the process, as some of my teeth have taken longer than projected to move, but that’s okay. I am happy with my results so far. I still have about 5 more weeks until my treatment is complete.
Helpful?Melissa O.Cleveland, Ohio2 years agoCrowdingSnaggletoothOverbiteCrossbiteOpen BiteI realized that the crowding of my teeth was getting worse over time, and I didn’t like the appearance of my smile due to my cross bite. The company was incredibly responsive before I paid (I paid in full in one lump sum) but after that I never spoke to anyone directly or heard from them aside from boilerplate emails. I never spoke to a professional about the projected final result. I was so excited that I didn’t really think about it much, and went ahead with the treatment. I am moderately pleased with the straightening of my bottom teeth, but overall disappointed in the result. The rotation on my canine hasn’t changed, and my open bite is as bad as it ever was. If I had had the opportunity to speak with someone, and understand that Byte couldn’t fix my bite at all, I wouldn’t have bothered. My dentist has sent me to an orthodontist to have my bite corrected, so basically this was a waste of time and money.
Helpful?Ashley H.Kansas City, Kansas2 years agoCrowdingCrossbiteI’ve been using Byte for 6 months now. My teeth are definitely adjusting, some aren’t tracking quite as well as they should. Bytes customer service was very helpful. However, I’m on the daytime aligners and wish I had gone with the night time ones because they’re thicker, and I’ve had issues with my aligners cracking. Also, it’s taken much longer for me to be able to switch liners than the one week time frame byte originally suggested. Overall I’ve been happy with Byte, if I had to do it again I would absolutely get the nighttime aligners and wearing all my aligners for a minimum of two weeks. I moved a little too quickly at first which is likely why a few of my teeth haven’t moved as planned.
Helpful?Kamille F.Las Vegas, NV2 years agoCrowdingSpacingOverbiteMy upper teeth were starting to crowd and were presenting misalignment while my lower teeth were spacing out further and further away from each other and it was starting to get worse over 2 years because my wisdom teeth were pushing out in the back. The reason I chose Byte was because I made sure to do research on the different brands and Byte seemed to have the best prices, best customer reviews, and best customer service. It was my first time hearing about this type of aligner and my brother mentioned Invisalign.
After searching for Invisalign, I started getting ads for other brands and everything I was looking for was provided by Byte. The process to begin was very easy and Byte presented very good manuals inside the boxes they kept sending, and included in the aligner kit was the Hyperbyte and some teeth whitening products. The service was exceptional and I definitely recommended them. My upper teeth have been corrected and my lower teeth are currently on the process of being corrected.
The only reason I am giving a 4-star rating is because when I started off and paid for the first time, the service was amazing and quick! It was very efficient. But after a year, they seem to be responding after a week IF I SEND THE MESSAGE 3 MORE TIMES. Overall, it was a positive experience and it helped my teeth.
Helpful?Ashley LaneHouston, TX2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteHmmmm. Where do I start. The best way to explain Bytes process is DIY. Do it yourself teeth straightening. You are basically in control of your own orthodontic care. Bad stuff first. False timeline. I expected to get done with treatment in 15 weeks as prescribed by BYTE. I expected to wear each aligner for 7 days and switch to the next aligner right after. I expected to have phone calls answered and emails responded to within 24 hours. I expected for the treatment to work on the first set of aligners. None of the aforementioned happened. I am now on a 2nd set of aligners. It has been 9 months. I have to wear the aligners for 2 weeks each. The customer service is very SLOW. I chose Byte at night because I dont want to wear them all the day. I wear them for 10hrs at night and take them out. Have I seen progress with my teeth? Yes. Do they look better? Yes. But goodness! Its such a slowwwwww process. I am glad that I dont have to visit the dentist constantly. I am not happy that BYTE withheld important info like time frame. YOu are required to send in pictures constantly. I hope that the treatment works with the current refinement aligners I am in right now.
Helpful?Rachel L.Mercer, PA2 years agoCrowdingThe process of enrolling with Byte is pretty easy & seamless. Initially, the customer service & support is extremely helpful & there to address every question each step of the way. Moving along through treatment, you feel like less of a priority. It becomes difficult to get in touch with customer service(at least someone actually qualified to help) and you often, if not always, wait 5-7 days to receive any feedback on your questions concerning treatment. I had little results with my first set of aligners and will say Byte stood behind its guarantee to redefine my treatment plan and send me another set of aligners; however, that didn’t give me the results I wanted in the timeframe I desired. I probably would have been better off in an orthodontist’s office where they would periodically monitor and tweak my plan, rather than waiting till the end for adjustments. That said, I’m slowly noticing results. If you want a “hands off” treatment experience, this is it!
Helpful?Adele B.Saint Louis, MO2 years agoCrowdingOverbiteI had braces when I was in high-school but only wore my retainer for the first few months. Since then my teeth have shifted quite a bit as I am 30 now and I’ve become unhappy with my smile. My 2 front teeth have started poking out and my bottom teeth are crowded again. I decided to get night time aligners through byte. I eat several times during the day and work 10 hour shifts with not enough time to brush and floss everytime I eat so daytime aligners weren’t ideal. With Byte I pop my aligners in when I get off work and keep them in overnight. They also have the hyperbyte which is a vibrating mouth guard you use for 10 minutes a night which speeds up the process and also helps with gum soreness from your aligners. Every time I needed something from the company they responded promptly. There were also a few things that had to be mailed like the impression kit (which you do at home, you don’t need to leave the house!), the first set of aligners, and then the last few aligners once they give you the okay on continuing your treatment. Those were all delivered quickly. Overall I’ve been very satisfied with these aligners and my dentist also asked me how I got my teeth so straight so quickly! I’d recommend to anyone who wants to straighten their teeth in a short amount of time.
Helpful?Tara T.Urbandale, IA2 years agoCrowdingSpacingTooth GapOverbiteOverjetI’ve been told basically since my adult teeth came in that I’d need braces. I’ve had a huge gap in my front teeth that I’ve always been super self conscious about, but never wanted to go through with actual metal braces (my brother did and I knew first hand how bad they could suck!) Also as I got older my lower teeth began overcrowding and one tooth was getting severely pushed in. After seeing all the new companies available that offered clear aligners I decided it was finally time to give em a try.
I went with byte because of the overall length of treatment time, cost involved for nighttime, and the user reviews. I spent a long time researching and still feel like I made the best choice.
The impressions were easy to do, just make a couple putty molds of top and bottom teeth, and they had my treatment plan up and running and ready to buy in under a week. My aligners arrived sooner than promised, too (I think around 2-3 weeks.) Their hyperbyte vibrate device was a LIFESAVER when it came to the initial discomfort. You can bank on those first couple days being full of pain! Their device is basically a vibrating mouth piece and I’d recommend buying it regardless of what company you’d use.
My initial treatment was to be 17 sets of upper and lower. Which seemed crazy low since I had a huge gap, but at the end of my 17 sets I easily could have called it finished and my teeth were at exactly what my plan showed. But, since I paid so much for my treatment and they offer a happiness guarantee I let them know there were still a few areas I wasn’t 100% happy with and they really worked with me to make sure I would be.
Initially they had me backtrack a few aligners to see if that helped. My issues were with one of my front teeth still being a little cockeyed (which I still don’t know will ever be fully straight but that’s just due to limitations of aligners period), my bottom teeth not being exactly perfect, and a slight gap in between my canines and incisors that I didn’t care for. Backtracking did help some, to their credit, but was not a fix so they sent me a new impression kit for free and then sent me refinement aligners. I think it took 3 weeks total to get all that done from my asking about refinements to having aligners, SUPER fast turn around considering the amount of new customers they have, and my communication with them was strictly email.
So now I’m in what they call refinements for another 17 sets but realistically if I stopped at any point between now (set 5 of refinements) and the end it was well worth my investment.
I can’t say enough good things about byte, honestly. I don’t know if I just got really great people on my case who replied quickly or what, but my experience has been nothing but positive and I expect it to end positively. The length of time based on my initial expectations doesn’t really matter in the end when my teeth are exactly how I wanted without the cost and pain of actual braces. My overbite/overjet is even vastly improved! I’m really happy and amazed with how my teeth look now.
