SmileDirectClub claims to effectively address mild-to-moderate cases of midline misalignment, but do their customer reviews back this up?
It’s a pretty mixed bag here — but keep in mind that the pool of customers is pretty small. We found just six reviews from people who used SDC to address midline misalignment, and only one of those was strictly addressing this condition. On the positive side, customers stated that SDC treatment met their expectations, and when it didn’t, it overall wasn’t a bad experience.
But on the negative? There are customers whose bites no longer come together, preventing them from eating food; those who have experienced severe gum reduction and pain; and in one case, someone who saw no results even after three scans and treatment plans.

Before-AfterGo see your dentist 1st. When the offer came up for me, I really didn’t have time to see mine. A few teeth pulled beforehand would have changed my outcome drastically. I have an enlarged and protruding lower jaw that causes an underbite, with massive crowing in both upper and lower jaws. My outcome isn’t finished, only 2 weeks left, and will most likely need refinements, but I wish I would’ve seen my dentist beforehand since I got what was planned, though it’s caused my front teeth to no longer connect in any way, so I can’t bite through foods now. 3 stars because shipping, customer service, and communication along with cost were very positive, I only wish my outcome would be much better.

ProgressIt has always bothered me how my jaw looked misaligned in pictures. I also have a very stubborn front tooth that tends to rotate. So far I have seen improvement with my teeth and I’m hopeful to have the problems fixed.

BeforeI chose this company because it was really affordable and had great reviews. The whole process was Super easy and convenient. Any time there was a problem, the FB messenger customer service was superb and reached back out to me in a very fast manner.
So far SDC has met my expectations and I thankfully have not had any problems come so far. The impression kit was a little tricky and I do recommend the teeth scan a lot more cause it gets really in-depth of what the teeth look like without any misinterpretation. I would say if you’re looking for a simple fix that isn’t too drastic, to go for it! It’s worth the price of not getting braces.

BeforeI chose this company because it was cheaper than other clear aligner companies (Invisalign), but still had a lot of reviews/customers. While some of the reviewers’ results were bad, my results were okay (the aligners did make my teeth straighter), however, I did experience significant gum reduction. Customer service response time via phone and email were fairly reasonable (within 1-2 weeks for email). I went in for an in-person scan, they provided lip balm, and teeth whitener (did not really work), and I had to provide payment information. Overall, not a bad experience, however, there are consequences with gum reduction and teeth pain. Would proceed with caution based on initial teeth conditions.

ProgressI have only been on the transformation for 3 months, out of a 7 month journey but I can already see movement. The staff at smile direct have always been responsive and helpful. I was only approved for upper movement until my gums were corrected on my lower jaw which is in progress. The cost for quality of product and service is worth the money!

AfterThis is was the biggest waste of money. I received a full refund. It took 3 times for them to re-scan and give me new sets of aligners. Each time I tried to cancel they tried to convince me to try again. After the third time, I requested my full refund. I cannot share a before or after photo because absolutely nothing shifted. I attached a photo of my teeth now since I stopped my treatment with them. The way my teeth were before it stayed exactly the same There were no changes it was like wearing and paying for something just for decoration. I am not sure how they are even still in business honestly.
