It’s one thing to chat with your dentist and look at some before-and-after pictures. But it’s another thing entirely once you’re wearing Invisalign’s aligners. And you might be wondering: what is Invisalign treatment like?
Aside from diving right in, the best way to assess Invisalign’s patient experience is by hearing it from current and former patients. Here’s the problem: unbiased, unsponsored online reviews are scarce. If you’ve spent hours scouring the Internet for verifiable reviews, we’ve got you. This is your go-to source for honest Invisalign reviews. No sponsorship, no actors — just real people and real opinions.
Smile Prep offers readers a small financial incentive in exchange for their unbiased reviews. We require proof of purchase before accepting reviews, and all reviewers must have completed at least three months of aligner treatment. You can learn more (and find out how to submit a review of your own) by checking out our customer review page.

I have been trying to transfer my account for over a month. I have been calling to ask why this is taking so long and have gotten no information or progress. I am in chronic pain from an open bite and every day I don’t receive treatment is another day I cannot eat/chew, sleep from the pain or live a normal life.
It has been 2 months since my previous Orthodontist, Dr. Ryan, denied me medical treatment and a refund of my money that I paid in full. Her office manager screamed at me and said “we’ll see how things go for a month” when I told him my aligner wasn’t seated right. I received a phone call from the Orthodontist I am trying to transfer to, Mashpee Ortho, Dr. Nick, saying that “because I called and asked questions to Invisalign, that my transfer has been shut down by Invisalign.” I am filing a report to the FTC Friday afternoon at 12 PM for this incompetent, pathetic excuse for a company for taking my money, refusing to transfer me, denying me access to treatment and not giving me any information on why this is being done to me.
I am in contact with a medical malpractice lawyer who has recommended I suing you for not only my money back, but also for the physical and emotional damages that Invisaligns’ behavior has caused me. I am insisting my transfer be completed and my money be returned to me immediately

I had overcrowding and was in a hurry to get my teeth straightened before my wedding. My teeth have been tracking exactly with the Clincheck so I feel that they are well qualified with teeth movement. The process has been very easy and wearing the trays is pretty simple with very little pain and discomfort. I’ve been very happy with the process.
Helpful?Madeline Q.Stafford, VA3 years agoCrowdingOverbiteOverjetI chose to purchase aligners because I’ve never liked my smile. I chose Invisalign because it was the best option financially for me and more convenient than wearing braces at 24. So far I have 8 trays left and the experience has been AMAZING, I didn’t think Invisalign would work this great due to how bad my teeth were. I am doing my Invisalign treatment through a local dentist office and the impression kit and support has been amazing so far. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
I would definitely recommend Invisalign to anyone looking into aligners.

Helpful?Natasha C.Minnesota3 years agoCrowdingOpen BiteChose Invisalign at orthodontics office next door to my TMJ pain management clinic because they work closely together. I have malocclusion, an open bite, and narrow arches that Invisalign is treating. I’m on tray 30 out of 81 so I am still in treatment.
Helpful?Tucson AZ2 years agoSpacingTooth GapI had always had multiple gaps in my teeth. I was told I would need braces at 5 years old. My front teeth gap was so big a quarter could fit in it. At 19 I tried getting braces but it wasn’t an option, financially. As I got older my gappy smile bothered me and I was called “picket” on multiple occasions. After talking to a coworker about her son’s braces I decided to go to Orthopros. Invisalign was explained to me and my gaps were about to be history. It’s pricier than braces but less life impacting and quicker. It hurt the first 2 weeks and was fine after that. Never regretted it and loved my orthodontist. If I knew how easy it was I would have done it sooner. My results excided my expectations.
Helpful?Ashley G.Delran NJ2 years agoCrossbiteMidlineI’ve always wanted to do Invisalign and when my teeth started shifting, I knew it was time. I’m currently trying to correct a crossbite on my left side. I chose my orthodontist because they are a Diamond provider on the Invisalign website and when I went for my consultation, I felt very comfortable with them. They are very professional and make you feel at ease. I’m still going through my treatment and I already see results. To anyone who it thinking about doing it, I definitely recommend it. But I also want you to know it’s a lifestyle change and takes plenty of patience.
Helpful?Cameron S.Andrews, SC2 years agoCrowdingThe care was a breeze, and I was able to skip many dentist visits because I was able to use the scan box. I used a child size toothbrush to clean my aligners(its easier to work with and fits down in their). I was very pleased with my experience, I do wish my timeline was a little more accurate tho, I went from one year, to two.
But, My daughter is going into Invisalign next!
Helpful?Christina G.Ridgewood2 years agoSpacingOverbiteMidlineI had braces when I was in middle school, and did not continue my treatment correctly by wearing my retainer regularly. This year I noticed my teeth had shifted a lot over the years and I went to get a consultation! I was so pleased with the 3D program that shows how your teeth will shift from start to finish, it is actually what convinced me! The orthodontist was very knowledgable and really did a great job explaining the process. I was able to see exactly what to expect at the end. Now that I am over 3 months in, it is the most seamless process ever! Being able to change them once a week and only having to go in every 8 weeks for the next set makes this very easy for working adults! I would highly recommend for anyone looking to better their smile! I already feel more comfortable with mine!
Helpful?Jeremy W.Atlanta2 years agoCrowdingOpen BiteMidlineI purchased aligners with the goal of straightening my teeth, fixing my bite, managing my periodontal disease, and address bone loss in my two lower medial incisors. I chose Dr. Green because he was friendly, energetic, engaged, and a phenomenal musician. My expectations have been surpassed, as this has been such a simple and streamlined journey. Throughout treatment, I’ve received nothing but the most professional guidance from Dr. Green and his team. I laud their good work and was positively surprised with how straightforward this process has been.
Helpful?Mackenzie D.Little Rock2 years agoCrowdingI have been self conscious about my very crooked bottom teeth for years. I am getting married this year, and decided it was finally time to go ahead and do Invisalign. My treatment was able to be “rushed,” meaning I will be done much sooner. This does mean I have to change aligners every week, instead of every two. They are a bit tighter/more uncomfortable when you first switch them on this time table. They are mildly inconvenient, just in terms of being out and about, and not really having a great way to clean them if you’re out to eat.
Helpful?Mark C.San Rafael, CA1 year agoCrowdingSnaggletoothI decided to get aligners because of a snaggletooth situation with one of my lower front teeth, which had been continually getting worse over time. I decided to get it taken care of because I had a one-time orthodontic benefit with my current dental plan. The treatment as was easy and didn’t involve many in-office visits, with scans taken through an iPhone app instead. This was convenient. Overall the process took a bit longer than I expected because the aligners didn’t seem to be producing the desired movement. I ended up with a result that was about 90% as good as I was expecting/hoping, and of course have to continue wearing the retainer forever. Although the process fell a bit short of my expectations, I’d still recommend it, and it was made relatively affordable by my dental insurance.
Helpful?Melissa W.Round Rock, TX1 year agoTooth GapTruly pleased with the Invisalign process. There were 14 sets in my package, and my gap closed seemingly overnight. The discomfort was minimal, no ibuprofen needed. I like the ability to remove the aligners to eat and brush and floss. The retainers are sturdy and well made and should last for quite some time. I’ve had no shifting since treatment completed. There were fewer in person visits, saving time and promoting convenience. Very pleased indeed!
Helpful?Sumeet S.Newport Beach, CA2 years agoCrowdingUnderbiteI was highly recommended to Dr. Attai for Invisalign treatment. He was a leading expert for Invisalign and also an educator for Invisalign so I trusted his expertise. I went with Invisalign over other treatment options because it has a long standing reputation of great results and allowed for more of a natural appearance (no metal braces) while in treatment. My profession requires me to be in front of customers/clients and having clear aligners helps. I had braces when I was younger, but had minor shifts that I wanted to correct and Invisalign corrected it all. I highly recommend Invisalign!
Helpful?Susan F.CAMARILLO, CA2 years agoCrowdingMidlineInvisalign has been a great and challenging experience. I can see the end result and looks amazing but it’s been a struggle with clear trays. I didnt know that attachments were going to be added to several of my teeth and keeping the trays in for 22 hours is difficult. In the end though, I would do it again and would still choose to do clear trays over braces and I’m happy with the end result (hopefully only three more trays). Another added note is that the treat has taken longer than orginally discussed, however my dentist has been great if a tooth isnt tracking and new trays are needed.
